Hello Gorgeous

{Photo taken from the internet}

Bought this gorgeous back last year. Just got it out from the box recently. I got it at around SGD200, cheaper than normal I think. It was a one time promotion in store. Mine is cherry, diameter 24 cm. It is the perfect size for 2 I think. The downsides are I need to oil it every time before I use it and washing it is such a chore. Well, I will continue to use, like I say, perfect size( and I already paid for it!). Anyway I bought baking soda to try to get rid of the grease, so let's see.

Japanese curry. The one reason why I opened this pot from wrapper. I know this photo doesn't look appetising but it was yum! Well, instant curry cube will never go wrong.

My new kitchen helper

{Photo taken from the internet}

Bought this cutie few weeks back. Since young, frozen food section was out of reach for me. Guess who went crazy at the section!

Frozen ready-to-eat fish. Not great though.

Oven-baked Portobello with cheese and asparagus. This is fast becoming my top favourite snack.

Of pom poms

Did these pom poms few weeks back. You know these are failed crafts when you had friends asking you  "why are you hanging these shower balls on your wall?"

{Photo taken from the internet}
I should have just hang the above on my wall.

Apple Slicer

I used to bring an apple to work everyday. But lately, I got too lazy to slice my apple so I don't eat them anymore. Guess what, I saw this apple slicer in the supermarket and I bought it.

Tadaaa. My apple is sliced. All you need to do is to push the slicer down the apple. This is truly for lazy people like me. Remember don't put your face too near the apple when slicing, unless you want some apple juice in your eyes (speaking from experience).

This look so pretty, like a flower.

DIY lamp

Bought this fairy lights from cotton on. They come in different colours. I bought the blue one. This is battery operated.

With any bottle, you can create a nice looking lamp. I chose this milk bottle that i gotten from cotton on as well. You can reuse any glass bottle from your drink.

I am going to try not stepping into any cotton on/typo shop. The damaged to my wallet is too much! Haa.

Half into 2015

Just like that, we are in the second half of 2015. This year, minus a few mishaps here and there, has been good.

It is good if you get to slow down your pace and take a look at the surrounding. I consider myself lucky to be able to do that. I am writing this down here so I will remember to count my blessing next time when I feel like I am failing in life.

Hasn't feel much for the past 2 months(empty?). Now I wonder is that peace that I am feeling. I am looking forward to my 2 weeks in Singapore in August. Can't wait.

Hong Kong Wetland Park

"I want to go wetland park." My brother said when he was here last month. Wetland park it is, the bummer ask, the bummer gets.

This is my first time to Hong Kong Wetland Park. I think we were there to early, else I believe the bloom will be nicer. It is still very peaceful and pretty place. I will spam you with photos.

The glasshouse lookalike entrance

One of the bloom

I wonder why they kept the lotus this way. Easier maintenance?

The wooden bridge

I like how the lone tree grow so tall

This is so pretty

This is how they grow actually

Now my favourite photos of that day

I really the wooden house right beside the lake (It is actually a hut to look at birds).

I had a lot more photos but i decided not to spam this space. We left the place around 4+ 5. It is quite calming to the mind to spend an afternoon in the nature.

Right outside the place. A few groups were actually having picnic or just lying on the grass looking into the sky.

The flowers along the way to take the train/tram.

The train/tram that goes round this town or village.

This is my first time to this town. I am surprise to see this town promoting anti pollution. Cabs are to turn off their engine if they idle for more than 3 minutes, else they will be fine. Very few cars were spotted too. Most of the people that stay in this town use the tram.

I will move here too but it is too far from the city. I am guessing I will be visiting this town more often.

Welcome home

Been a while since my last banner. Here is a new (not-so-new-2-months-old) banner I did to welcome my family when they were over last month.

This time round, I tried fishtail flag and cloth pegs. I love this color combination. It is so simple and chic. The red heart brighten the whole flag. I am already brainstorming/stalking for more ideas.

Carnival

Carnival, one of my favourite place to go. The food, the rides, the games and the people. Laughter all around and it is contagious( maybe with a bit of alcohol). I remember, when I was younger, my parent brought my siblings and me to carnival, or what we called funfair. It was like heaven. I still remembered eating all the cockles in the funfair. I have no idea why, but that's the most memorable for me of the carnival.

When I was in Brisbane, they had Ekka. I love love love it. They have animals as well! Oh, when I found out Melbourne has Royal Melbourne Show, I planned my trip according to the timeline, so that I could go. I love all the soft toys I won.

Guess what, there is a carnival in Hong Kong right now too. It is hosted by AIA. It is called AIA Carnival I think. Of course I went.  I had a good time there. I love thrill rides! I took a few videos of the rides there( remember to turn your volume unless you want to hear people screaming their lung out).

I took the ride shown in the 3rd video. Only the first 15 seconds was thrilling. After that, I just wished the ride could end earlier. My neck was killing me. The pressure of the ride basically killed my body. This is what old age is about. I used to be able to play this kind of rides non stop. Now, I only lasted for 15 seconds, one five! Seriously!

Too bad, there is no cockles for me to relive the memories. But still, I had fun running around the carnival.

My wins for the night!

Christmas is around the corner

Guess what! I decided to decor the house up a little. Bought a stencil to improve on the letters. Still need some improvement but good enough for me. I found doing this very therapeutic, it takes my mind off any problems that are bothering me.

Tadaaaa!

I like how it turn out. If only I know how to cut out nice Christmas tree, next time hopefully.

Food : Hong Kong Ichiran Classic Tonkotsu Ramen

Thanks to my wonderful friend visiting, she introduced me to this ramen chain store from Japan, and it has since become my favourite ramen in Hong Kong, Ichiran Ramen. The best part is, they are open for 24 hours everyday! I can already see myself having supper there.

Address: Lockhart House Block B, 440-446 Jaffe Rd香港銅鑼灣謝斐道440-446 號駱克大樓A 座地下F-G 舖

The other good thing is you can come alone and there is no need to worry getting weird stares. Everyone will get their individual booth. Personal space is good for me.

Free flow of their delicious water or what we call plain water.

They even have a guide to advise on how to order. Almost everything in the bowl is customisable.

My yummy ramen is served. Noticed that now the curtain is down. After they serve your ramen, they will close down the curtain and leave you alone to enjoy your ramen I guess.

Closed up on my ramen. The soup, the noodle is really good.

The price of this ramen is on the high side though but totally worth it!

My friend went Tokyo and try Ichiran japan. She said it was awesome. Now I am looking forward to trying the one in Japan. Soon, I hope.

If you had tried Ichiran Hong Kong, tell me what you think.

Making it more colourful

One of the things I like to do when I am bored. Sticking Masking tapes. I love Masking tapes with design.

Making use of Starbuck bottle if you ran out of vase.

A little something to spice my life up.

The Masking tape can be easily taken out. If you are throwing a party with a theme, you can always change the design of the tapes to suit your theme.

Feeling crafty

Feeling rather bored with tv series recently, so I looked up the internet and voila, my first craft. I know everything about this flag banner is wrong but well, this is my first, so this will be staying there for quite a well and I am feeling accomplished.

Hopefully, I can show off my second one, ever.

p.s. pls ignore the messy bookshelf

Cycle through a different Hong Kong

Another item to strike off on my checklist for Hong Kong. I had been wanting to exercise for the past few weeks. With the weather being unpredictable, I was mostly home. Last Sunday, the sun was inviting me to go out and play, and so I did.

Read online about the Tolo Harbour Cycling Track which is along the seaside, totally tempting. And so I went.

Shatin MTR station. This is my first time to this station. I was actually very confused at first. Usually the stations/places I go to, the station is newer than this, this is like a few metals put together. I got so excited that I took photos of the station.

This view already made me happy. Big space makes me a happy girl. Oh yah, by the time I reached there, it was already 6pm. This place is not exactly near the place I stayed, but totally worth it.

My rental bike and here we go.

This is the scenery along the way. You can actually cycle for 2/3 MTR stations and return the bike at the specified location. But I was there too late, so I need to cycle back to return the bike.

Made a logical stop at this tower. Such a pretty sight at night. After resting for 5 mins, went all the way back.

Guess what, I did a 23 km ride. I feel alive again although my thighs and butt do not think the same. I guess due to the time I started, most of the crowds already went home, so it was really good. I want to do this again in winter!
